A word about Sun Screen

Please use sun screen. Nowadays it is essential to do so.
When we grew up in the 50s and 60s there was no ozone hole yet. But since the suns rays have gotten so much more intensive - and it's not getting less - we need to apply sun screen the proper way on our skin.

Did you know, that if you get a sun burn all kinds of micro organisms are able to pratically walk right through the protective barrier of your skin and invade your body bacause you disstroyed it temporarly?

This is how you do it the correct way:

Use a SPF 15 or up for every day use. If you know you'll be in the sun for longer than 2 hours you'll need an SPF 30 or higher.

Apply sun screen directly onto your clean skin as the very first creme layer that will touch your skin. Sun screen has to be in direct contact with your skin or it won't work. Massage it in throughly. Myself I like to wait 1/2 hour before I apply my moisturizer over it. I just like that greasy feeling - can't help it. Then you'll be ready to go and enjoy the outside.

Do you know how much SPF you need?
If you would get a sun burn in let's say 10 minutes without protection you will need a SPF of minimum 15 so you can stay in the sun savely for 2.5 hours. Remember to apply your SPF generously, not just a drop. Experts say a teaspoon for your face and neck. That's quite a large amount.

Always clean your face and body in the evening off that sun screen. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are not necesarily nutritious for your skin. But they do a great protective job throughout the day.

I you prefer use Dr.Eckstein's Azulen or Collagen Pack as a special treatment after your sunny day.
Think about all the lines you won't get but you will still get a healthy tan.
Morning Routine

Do you wake up in the mornings with swollen eyes and it takes forever for them to calm down? Here is a great routine you can start in bed right after you wake up:

Lay your hands onto your face like in the picture. Move your finger tips upward towards the root of your nose, then to the center of your fore head, towards the hairline all the way around to your chin. Repeat 10x!

Home Treatments

Here are some tips for proper skin care at home:

Cleansing

Use Dr.Eckstein's Cleansing Milk or Beautifarm Cleansing Milk and apply it onto your DRY skin. You don't neccesarly need to take your make up off first unless you wear a lot Add some water with your fingertips and emulgate the cleanser. Every time your finger tips feel dryer, get a little more water.

Take a white wash cloth and rinse, rinse, rinse and rinse until there is no more make up in it. Sometimes I like comparing cleansing a face to cleaning salad. You won't eat it before all the sand is gone.

In the morning you can skip the throughly cleansing, but at least rinse with some water.

Toning

I personally think toning is optional but myself I do tone after cleaning. Other professionals will say it's very necessary to use toner.

Dr.Eckstein offers 2 very nice toners: One for sensitive skin from Beautifarm and his regular toner with soothing ingredients like orange oil.

Daily Moisturizing

Dr.Eckstein offers a wide range of great moisturizers with wonderful nurishing ingredients.

During summer time I prefer the Collagen Day Cream. It is light and contains a light filter (not a sun screen) but it will get you protected to the supermarket, post office and back to your home.

During the winter months I prefer a night cream - either Collagen Supreme or Calendula/Vitamin mix.

For advice how to use your SPF properly I refer to the 1st segment of Skinology .

Night Care

There are several great nutritious night creams Dr.Eckstein offers. Pea size is usually enough for face and neck. You can read about them in the segment of Product Menu .

After your application of your favorite night cream you finish your eye area with Dr.Eckstein's Eye Care Balm.

Extra Care

Morning and night I recommend a drop of Liposome Gel before I apply anything. I have used this product now since 15 years minimum and I won't miss it in my daily regiment anymore. If you use it for a month and then stop the use of it you'll put yourself back on the Liposome Gel in no time because you can see the difference in your fine lines. They are definately smoother and finer.

Dr.Eckstein also offers great masks and facial packs. My favorite is the Collagen Pack. I try to do one once a week, but even I am a normal woman and cannot get around it always on time. Leave the pack on for 20-30 minutes after cleansing and then use a washcloth to rinse it off with luke warm water.

Following the pack give yourself a real professional addition with a Collagen Ampoule then moisturize.
